Filmtrade has been servicing productions in South Florida and the Caribbean for over 25 years. We provide lighting, grip power equipment and more for TV commercials, feature films, music videos, live sports, photo shoots and special events.


Filmtrade rents entire packages or individual pieces for use by the day or for extended periods. Our services include shipping, transportation and information for the customer for both domestic and international rentals.


Filmtrade is owned and operated by John Banner, President and founder. Mr. Banner has over 25 years experience in the film equipment rental industry. John Banner's commitment to service and reliability is the cornerstone of Filmtrade's successful customer relations. John enters his 28th season with a renewed commitment to Service, Quality, Reliability and Trust.


Our Director of Operations Charlie Casas contributes to the success of Filmtrade by making sure our everyday operation is at its best, he also brings his many years of experience in the field and hands on technical experience and knowledge to the business. He is also fluent in Spanish to better serve our international clientele.


Our Guys in the shop; Richard (Shop Foreman), Geordano (Senior Maintenance/Repair Specialist) Mingo & Jacob (Senior Shop Associates) plus Alfred Losada Utility. Nelson Queralta is Our Photo and Digital Tech here and in NY, These folks are ready for anything thrown their way. They strive to get the job done right the first time. Together we can tackle anything and make it look easy.

Driver Program

Benefits of using the filmtrade driver program


 • When using a Filmtrade CDL driver the production company will not be responsible for compensating the driver for the first hour to and from the location. That will result in an average saving of at least a hundred dollars of drive time each day of production. The driver is however on the production insurance portal to portal.

• When hiring a Filmtrade CDL driver for your production you are not only getting a driver for our truck, you are getting a qualified Grip / Electrician and a direct representative for all stages of your job, from the initial equipment list after scout to the checking in of equipment after the conclusion of your job. The Filmtrade CDL driver will be directly involved in the pulling of the equipment, the testing of the equipment and supervising the proper load out before the start of production. This prevents delays in production due to crewmembers not being able to find equipment on the truck and taking time for unnecessary calls to our shop.

• All Filmtrade CDL drivers have 24 hour access to our shop and equipment. This enables the driver to swap or add equipment before or after the shooting day, saving the production possible delivery fees the following day.
